Dr. Dawud Ansari from the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, Energy Access and Development Program, will talk about hydrogen from Oman - a look at current developments in the country and possible trade relations with Germany.

"Hydrogen is intended to serve as a 'clean' gas for the decarbonization of industry, aviation and shipping. The Sultanate of Oman, favored by its strategic location, its potential for renewable energy and its long-standing experience in the petroleum sector, is positioning itself as a key player in the emerging global hydrogen economy. Germany, which is currently fine-tuning its hydrogen import strategy, could also benefit from this - not only in terms of energy policy, but also geopolitically."

This ‎lecture highlights advances in Oman's hydrogen economy, reveals the intentions behind it and discusses both the obstacles and opportunities arising for the trade in hydrogen between Oman and Germany.

We are very pleased that Dr. Dawud Ansari talks in our Oman Online Salon. He is a world-renowned researcher, consultant, university lecturer and NGO director whose outstanding expertise includes global energy, sustainable development, geopolitics, and social and political dynamics in the Middle East (particularly the Gulf States and Yemen).
