Exhibition at the Museum of Communication Berlin
Culture - Nature - Society
Fascinating landscapes, a thousand-year-old history - and philatelic treasures: the Sultanate of Oman was a guest of the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin with the Cabinet exhibition "Greetings from Oman".
The state located in the east of the Arabian Peninsula is not only a cultural and historical holiday country but also has a rather unknown facet - the country's post-and postage history.
In addition to numerous pieces of Oman philatelic, which have never been shown before, land-like exhibits such as the Omani dagger, precious silver jewelery and other Oriental art objects were also displayed, including the model of a dhow, a typical omani sailing vessel handed over to former Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer by the Omani ambassador.
The exhibition, initiated by the German-Omani Association, was held in cooperation with the Omani Ministry of Tourism and the Omani Embassy, from March 6 to 29, 2015, at the Museum of Communication Berlin, Leipziger Str.
The opening evening was on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Separate invitations were given.
The exhibition program included lectures and guided tours.
