The exhibition "Globalization Connections-Time" / "Trade" by and with Yasemin Yilmaz and Hassan Meer was presented on 7 April 2014 by SE Herrn v. Reibnitz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Stal Gallery in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Golfregion.
The project was also supported by the German-Omani Association.
It consisted of two different project phases, which were partly realized during Yilmaz residence in Muscat - "Globalization Connections-Time" and "Trade".
The project "Globalization Connections-Time" was established in 2008 by Yasemin Yilmaz and was deliberately taking place on the switching day, 29 February 2008. On this day twelve artists from six continents worked simultaneously for 24 hours to explore how the individual artist is influenced by the events around him in his work. Regardless of its natural environment, it is above all the view into the "time", which influences the work. In the now second edition of the project, twelve artists - two per continent - worked on the same concept again. The Omani artist Hassan Meer was one of the participating artists.
In addition to the "Globalization-Connections-Time" project, the interactive project "Trade" was shown. These were created during the joint residence of the Omani artist Hassan Meer and the German artist and curator Yasemin Yilmaz. "Trade" stands for a program that tries to strengthen contemporary art in Muscat and to promote cultural relations between Oman and Germany through artistic processes.
